Mittens are always warmer than gloves, because they encourage your fingers to keep each other warm. These mittens are SO warm - thick hide and naturally lined and very well-made, so I didn't mind the price very much. When I'm going to be out in the bitter cold, they are long enough to overlap a long sleeve turtle or to tuck under the cuff my coat sleeve. So much better than knit. A set of handwarmers in these and I could be out all day and stay warm. Can't yet say about durability since I only just received them, but they appear to be of very high quality, so I'll have to report back on that later.
