The shoe was comfortable right out of the box. Perfectly molded to my feet. I have plantar fasciitis and a heel spur, both plaguing my right foot. I wear a 9.5, though some shoes I wear a 10. I wear a wide depending on the fit of a shoe. I think that, for me, the height of the wedge heel was just too much. Within five minutes of me walking around my house, the base between my big toe and the one next to it began to go numb on both feet. My podiatrist told me to look for a good fitting shoe with 1" - 1.5" heel to give relief to my plantar fascia when I can't wear my New Balances. I was hoping these would fit the bill (or foot, in this case, haha), but they weren't right for me. If they'd been just a tad more snug on my heel, my foot wouldn't be moving into the front of the shoe as much, causing the numbness. Just something to watch out for for those who are looking at this great shoe.I love the color of the chestnut shoes! They are super comfortable and I can wear them after my foot surgery. Size down. I Ordered my regular size 9.5-10 (I wear a 10 size shoe normally) and had to reorder the 8.5-9. If you get your normal size; the shoe will not stay on your foot. The shoe is leather and will eventually stretch and mold to your foot. It’s a snug fit right now, but my shoe isn’t falling off of me. I ordered the black shoes also, because I liked the chestnut so much. I was torn between ordering the teak or chestnut shoe, but for the price the chestnut looks much classier.Update: went with a bigger size. The shoe gave me toe blisters. It fits better with the smaller size, but I have wide feet. I needed more toe room.Update: 9.5-10 are so comfortable that I bought all 3 colors. Very happy with my purchase.I’be has these for a few months now and have been so pleased with these shoes (bought in black) in fit, style, versatility and durability! I work in healthcare so clogs are basically part of the uniform! But as I’m on the administrative side I wanted something that looked a little less “clinical” but could still provide support and comfort whether I’m at my desk or walking around all day. These have done that job and more. They’re so comfortable and they go with cropped pants, classic trouser cut slacks, leggings, dresses, skirts. I will say the one thing I wouldn’t pair them with is a “dressy” skirt/dress like something you would traditionally pair with a pump, but I wear that infrequently. I get lots of compliments and “those are Dansko’s??” comments. These were worth every cent and I’ll likely go for a pair in “wine” soon!I'm satisfied. It's been a long journey to find a shoe that fit my "wide" size 10. I was always disappointed with other brands. It was also hard to find a wide shoe in other brands. I ordered Dansko size 101/2-11. It was a snug fit at first but quickly loosened hours later. I've already order another Dansko style shoe. I'm sold!!!!Dansko is a quality brand for those of us who wear custom orthotics. I thought that my orthotocs would for well in this shoe; I fluctuate between a 6.5 and a 7 medium. My orthotic fit well, and the arch support is extremely comfortable. But when I tested the shoes in my bedroom once they were delivered, I could barely walk out of my bedroom without the shoe "gushing" in the arch area. And my heels were slipping out of the back of the shoe.Better luck next time.I would have chosen the wrong size but I went back and read the reviews before I clicked submit order. I wear a 9.5 and typically I would have been a size 40. But after reading the reviews they all stated to size down, I don't have a wide foot or anything like that. I sized down to a size 39 and shoes are a perfect fit, got them in a black and I am so pleased with my purchase!!These shoes are beautiful and extremely comfortable for my messed up feet! I can wear them for hours without rushing to get home to take off my shoes. A relief. I purchased them in both black and brown, and recommend them.I work in healthcare and am on my feet all day. I used to wear flats and my feet would burn and ache after the first half-hour of wear. I would constantly be shifting my weight in my flats to relieve the pain. I was hesitant to purchase these because of the price but these Dansko's are a true life changer. My feet never get sore in them. The first few times I wore them to work I came home full of pure joy and excitement regarding them to my husband.If you have never worn Dansko's before I recommend going to your local Nordstrom or similar to try on a pair and get your size. I'm a US 9 and wear a 39 in these.For me they fit as expected. I have high arches and a narrow heel. I do not have wide feet.I'm a true 7 and I got the 37 which is suppose to be 6.5 to 7 however, these fit more like a 7.5, or 7.25, my heel slips out through the back somewhat. The shoes themselves are cute and feel comfortable, I can likely add insoles because of the extra room.
